Monmouth August 1 3rd race

#3 Riva Way

Gets an 11 pound weght break and spit a nice bullet 7/26 going into this tilt. Sports a stellar win % in routes (7/16)

Arlington August 1 3rd race

#4 Forty Nine Deeds

Asmussen puts Lanerie on this one and dumps him to a new low (35k) Trouble in last start-clean break will set up a run for the marbles.

Thanks DG-hope these pan out...

Woodbine August 3 2nd race

#1 Orchard Street

Never got involved after throwing head at start in last-- useful work off short freshening where trainer Armata has good 22% success rate. Class drop and Ramsammy will help

Woodbine August 3 6th race

#4 J and B's Nu Image

This nag knows how to win (15 for 40 lifetime) and am hoping last 2 stinkers will turn the public off, although hard to ignore the bullet work on 7/27. Drop to a new low and pilot Mcaleney who knows the horse shows me the trainer wants his first win of the meet.

Arlington August 3 6th race

#2 Rain Boots

Showed some life in last in 2nd race off 11 month layoff. Mediocre jock Perez scored twice with him last year. Two works with a bullet since last drubbing point to a much improved effort.

A guy on another board likes this nag--he spotted the pedigree--I added the trainer stuff

Saratoga August 3 5th race

Very nice group here....and it's a Dead heat for me. Can't sperate 5 or 6 horses with my eyes.

So....I'll have a TOTE Board Play here.

The 10. Think Pink. This horse comes up "Live" when I look at Pedigree and Progeny success. May need more ground or an experience....and the post works against me...

But....at 12-1 or better.. I may take a healthy swing at her. The horse can run..... I set my Line at 5-1. I see this horse totally ignored out here and might provide a real sneaky Value play.

I'll be surprised if "Think Pink" miss's the ticket.

Some interesting trainers stats on Think Pink straight from the 2003 Saratoga Handicapper

Shug McGaughey

First time starters

4/21 --a bet on every Shug fts returned a $4.90 profit on $2 bet

When using Bridgmohan in 2002 o/2 BUT hit the board both times

For maiden fts 2 year olds 3/16 a loss o $4.50 BUT 50 % itm

At odds of 5-2 to 5-1 62% itm with a profit of $12.90 on 29 starters

Att odds of 6-1 to 10-1 62% itm from 29 starters and a profit of $18.20

Looks like a solid prop to hit the board

Saratoga August 4 Race 9

#1 Sejm Boogie

Claimed by Dutrow and tanked a level higher. Tractable running style will serve him well--a ton of speed has been signed up for this dash. Has to compete with #3 Threat of Victory in the lane. Gonna box em both and play Sejm across.

Monmouth August 6 Race 5

#9 Dancing Deer

Exits an insanely fast 25k tilt and now drops to 16k for the cagey Iwinski. Has a very useful 5f work in the interim and the inimitable Jersey Joe Bravo climbs aboard replacing the bug.

Saratoga August 6 Race 9

#2 Polish Silk

There is very little speed entered for this 20k bastard (7f) distance, setting the stage for the Silkster to stay close (or lead) and get all the goodies. Second off the claim and second off the freshening. Strong last race and bullet six days ago spell s-h-a-r-p!
